Bay Area Fun Festival is this weekend, September 20th and 21st. Several events take place that force street closures downtown, including the Prefontaine 10K run, the Kids’ Pre-5 K, the Festival Parade, the Car Classic Cruise, and the Vendor Mall Market.

Every year this event is a great success for Coos Bay and the downtown community. We would like to inform you of the temporary road closures that will be in effect this weekend, September 19th-21st. The following road closures will commence at 5:00 pm on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th and will end at 8:00 pm on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st.

All traffic and parking on roads and parking lots listed above is prohibited during these times.

To minimize traffic disruption for residents and business owners on the weekend of the Bay Area Fun Festival, barricades will be utilized. A detailed traffic management plan will be available upon request.

• 2nd street (between Anderson and Commercial) through traffic

• 2nd street public parking lot (between Commercial and Central Ave)

• 3rd street (between Anderson and Commercial) through traffic

• Central Avenue from 101 southbound to 4th Street

• 4th street (between Anderson and Commercial)

• 2nd street public parking lot(entire lot between 2nd and 3rd)

• 4th street public parking lot (corner of 4th and commercial, next to Hall building)

• 4th street public parking lot (between Anderson and Curtis avenue)

• 2nd street between Anderson and Curtis Avenue

ABOVE STREETS AND PARKING LOTS MUST BE CLEAR OF ALL CARS BY 5:00 PM ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th. ANY CARS LEFT WILL BE TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.
