City of Coos Bay Celebrates 150th Birthday
Mark your calendar! Coos Bay turns 150 years on Saturday, October 26th and you don’t want to miss out on the Big Birthday Party being held at the Coos History Museum and the Coos Bay Village. The party starts at 1 pm at the Coos History Museum, with a welcome speech from the city’s mayor, Joe Benetti, representatives from the Coquille Indian Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians and the History Museum’s local historian, Steve Greif.
The Coast Guard will do an aerial display over the bay and immediately following that there will be the cutting of the ceremonial Birthday Cake. You can treat yourself to a complimentary birthday cupcake. The party doesn’t end there! Stay and enjoy the following:

Tribal Canoes will be on Display
Free Arts Projects with Josie’s Art Lab (at the Museum)
Enjoy free Hot Dogs and Pretzels, provided by local service organizations and OCCI
Pick up a Birthday card passport at the museum. Stop in at participating Coos Bay Village Merchants to have it stamped. Return it to the museum for a chance to win a basket of goodies valued at over $400 (drawing to be held at 5 pm. Need not be present to win)
Take time out to enjoy live music from Blue Tide Blues Bands, provided by 7 Devils Brewery
This event runs from 1 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, October 26th at the Coos History Museum and
the Coos Bay Village, located at 1210 N Front Street in Coos Bay. This is a free event and family-friendly. What better way to spend a Saturday!
